The patient’s story

This fit woman wanted to address the last stubborn areas of abdominal fullness. She chose CoolSculpting because she hoped to make that refinement without undergoing liposuction.

Instead of shrinking, the treated abdominal fat grew. She developed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), and the unexpected enlargement was deeply upsetting. What had been intended as a small improvement had become a setback, leading her to the surgical treatment she had originally hoped to avoid.

Dr. Darren Smith treated her abdomen with VASER-assisted liposuction and BodyTite. The photographs show her abdomen before and after this treatment.
