Latest Surgical Techniques
Advanced Methods
Dr. Smith stays current through continuing education, research, and teaching. He uses power-assisted liposuction, VASER ultrasound, BodyTite, and closure techniques chosen to keep scars as inconspicuous as they can be. Scars fade but they do not disappear. VASER is part of his routine liposuction technique and is useful in virtually every case. He finds that adding VASER substantially reduces blood loss, and the deep tissue tightening it produces gives a contouring advantage. It is non-negotiable in revision liposuction, where it breaks up scar tissue, and in gynecomastia and flank liposuction, where the tissue is naturally fibrous. He also prefers it in male patients generally, whose connective tissue tends to be tougher and can impede liposuction.
