Within 1 business day, our consultation coordinator will contact you at your preferred phone number or email. During this 10-15 minute call, we’ll:

Can I ask about pricing before paying the consultation fee?
Yes, absolutely. During your initial phone call with our team, we’ll provide general pricing ranges for the procedures you’re considering. We believe you should have a clear understanding of the investment before committing to a consultation. Dr. Smith will provide a detailed, personalized quote during your appointment based on your specific goals and anatomy.
Is the $500 consultation fee refundable?
The consultation fee is applied as a credit toward your procedure if you choose to move forward with surgery. If you decide not to proceed, the fee covers Dr. Smith’s time for your comprehensive assessment, and personalized treatment plan—typically 60-90 minutes of dedicated attention.
What should I bring or prepare?
To make the most of your consultation:
- Photos of the results you’re hoping to achieve (from magazines, Instagram, etc.)
- A list of questions you’d like answered
- Your health history (we’ll send secure electronic intake forms before your visit)
- Comfortable clothing that allows easy examination of your areas of concern
Many patients find it helpful to write down their goals beforehand so nothing is forgotten during the conversation.
What if I need to reschedule?
We understand schedules change. Please give us at least 48 hours notice to reschedule your appointment. You can call us directly at (212) 633-0627 or email our team. Your consultation fee will transfer to your new appointment date.
Will I be pressured to book a procedure?
Never. Dr. Smith’s philosophy is collaborative, not sales-driven. His goal is to help you understand your options and determine whether surgery is the right path for your goals. Many patients take weeks or even months to decide after their consultation—that’s perfectly fine. You’ll never be pressured to make a same-day decision.
What if I'm not sure which procedure I need?
That’s exactly what the consultation is for. Many patients come in saying “I want to flatten my stomach” without knowing whether liposuction or a tummy tuck is right for them. Dr. Smith uses 3D imaging technology to show you potential outcomes for different approaches, so you can make an informed decision together. You don’t need to know the answer before you arrive—just your goals.
How long before I need to decide after my consultation?
Take as long as you need. Some patients book surgery the same day because they feel confident in their decision; others take months to consider. Our team is available to answer follow-up questions whenever they arise.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a partner, family member, or friend to your consultation. Many patients find it helpful to have a second set of ears, and Dr. Smith is happy to address questions from your support person as well.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available for out-of-town patients or for those who prefer an initial exploration before committing to an in-person visit. During a virtual consultation, Dr. Smith can discuss your goals, review photos you provide, and give preliminary recommendations. An in-person visit is helpful before any surgical procedure to complete your physical examination and 3D imaging. For our out-of-town patients, these often occur the day prior to their procedure.
What COVID/safety protocols are in place?
Our Ritz Tower office maintains rigorous health and safety standards. The facility is fully accredited, and we follow all current health guidelines. If you’re feeling unwell on your appointment day, please let us know and we’ll happily reschedule at no charge.
